PORTFOLIO

The following is a collection of works by the Issho Design team. These works have been created either in tandem with an outside business, or in isolation by the Issho team.

Inspiration 2 Children’s Acute Ward Cot

Designed for children / young adults, the cot was developed to cover existing failures in the original version with the release of the Medical Device Regulations in 2017.

The product features redesigned geometry to combat these failures, plus numerous quality of life improvements such as new control pendant & storage, see through ends for patient visibility and a new modernised styling.

The cot has been successful in the marketplace, and has been sold into a number of healthcare trusts, including Great Ormand Street Hospital.

Nitro 2 Rollator Family

Designed for the USA and to be sold into the wider global market, the Nitro Sprint was created to refresh the already popular Nitro range and rerelease into the market as a bold step forward for the product line.

The product was designed with form at the forefront of the brief. Whereas the previous version had been fabricated tube, use of extruded aluminium and hydroformed profiles created a sweeping frame reminiscent of high end bicycle chassis.

An iterative design process, this involved numerous concepts being generated for each part of the product. This was also designed as part of a team, allowing for great collaboration both with UK and US based businesses.

Nightingale Search & Rescue Evacuation Stretcher

Designed in collaboration with the Langdale & Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team, the Nightingale SAR Evac Stretcher was designed to improve upon the outdated but reliable design of the Bell Stretcher.

The Nightingale was developed with two key details in mind – it needed to be much lighter and more portable than the old steel Bell frame. When on a rescue, the mountain rescue team will wear the stretcher on their backs, meaning the heavier it is the longer someone’s life is at risk,

The stretcher was redesigned to be rotationally moulded polypropylene, with wheels and a fold out backpack under the main body to allow easier transport when not in use. It was also redesigned to be more visible in low light conditions, and more ergonomic for the patient lying on it.

Please note the Nightingale Stretcher is the sole property of Issho Design. Intellectual property rights belong to this business alone.
